Hey, I’m Jason – a sales, marketing and design professional living in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
Fact: I made this website while watching Walt and Jesse make “sky high stacks” on Breaking Bad. Netflix has been good to me.
I consider myself a salesman, graphic designer and overall web enthusiast. For me, excitement comes from making the big sale, seeing an idea take shape on the web, and finally reaching that point where something complicated becomes something useful.
I graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador in 2010 with a Bachelor of Commerce. Throughout university I developed a keen interest in entrepreneurship and even started my own small business called Recess Weekly, which I’ve been successfully running for four years.
I currently work for an awesome company in St. John‘s called DPO Media. We are one of the top In-Store marketing providers in Atlantic Canada with services in On-Hold Marketing, In-Store Music and Messaging, Video Production, and Website Design.
Fact: I’ve basically been wearing glasses every day since I was six months old. I had contacts for a few months during Junior High, but accidentally washed them down the drain.
DPO Media is one of the leading In-Store Communications providers in Atlantic Canada. They provide a suite of direct marketing tools including In-Store Radio, On-Hold Marketing, Video Production and Website Design.
In 2008 I started a campus publication called ‘Recess Weekly’ at Memorial University. It’s now a popular bi-weekly publication distributed to roughly 100 locations throughout the city of St. John’s.
The Genesis Centre is a Newfoundland based incubator for technology companies. My role as a junior business analyst was to provide support to clients and manage the overall marketing of the centre.
Our team was responsible for all Motor Oil sales, marketing and distribution operations across Canadian Tire’s national retail network.
Business Day is an annual speaker series event organized by the graduating class of Memorial University’s Business Faculty. I lead a small team in organizing this event, consisting of high profile speakers and over 300 attendees.
Throughout university I was heavily involved in the Memorial University SIFE program. I took on various project manager roles as well as the executive position of VP Entrepreneurship.
