I love practical, actionable advice

I love practical advice.

So when I found this book on vacation last week, I fell in love.

Most of the parenting books I’ve read get deep into parenting theory.

This book is the polar opposite.

Each chapter is focused on simple lessons and tools you can use in real-life situations. All wrapped in light-hearted humor.

Things like:

  • How To Snap Your Fingers
  • How to Stop a Bloody Nose
  • How To Make An Omelet
  • How To Tie A Tie
  • How To Make Hand Shadows
  • How To Loose At Tic-Tac-Toe
  • How To Make A Paper Airplane
  • How to Mow The Lawn, Rake Leaves, & Shovel Snow
  • How to Bait A Hook
  • How To Skip A Rock

Is this the definitive book on being a parent? Of course not.

For example, there’s no chapter on “How To Change a Diaper.”

But in a world where everyone speaks in high-level theory, it’s nice to find something a bit more practical.

I wish more business books took the same approach.
