Neat use case! I'd always recommend the least fluff possible when it comes to the contents of a resume. It's a tool for recruiters and hiring managers to scan quickly so keeping it compact and simple goes a long way. Text should be selectable for orgs using ATS and the background should be print friendly, using the least ink possible. Using it as a creative canvas might help you stand out, but not in the way you'd think. There are other ways to stand out such as including an intro video in your cover letter, reaching out to network with potential team members or just putting all that visual attention on your website instead.

Figma I do this for my resume currently, but there are some issues with how Figma exports frames to PDFs that result in very large files that wouldn't even be accepted by application forms. The issue doesn't seem present in other tools and has gone back a few years. The only thing that has worked remotely well is a paid image compression plugin, or manually editing the PDF inside Acrobat and deleting dozens of empty bounding boxes... https://spectrum.chat/figma/general/pdf-export-file-size~607759b5-8801-41ba-b6bf-fd4266c97183 https://spectrum.chat/figma/general/pdf-export-is-weirdly-large~3ff47a9f-4853-4d3f-ba92-0bfa7add41f7 https://forum.figma.com/t/how-to-shrink-pdf-export/477

As a designer, you know that for your illustrations to thrive beyond their infancy, they need to become part of a design system. But this can also be a bittersweet moment. The Indeed.com design team has spent a lot of time thinking about this. They've found a way to build illustrations into their design systems that can scale as their company grows and stay true to the original work. https://lnkd.in/g966_syV #designsystems #illustrations #visualdesign #productdesign #uxdesign #uidesign #design #designops #illustrationartists

A major pain point for freelancers and small business owners is invoicing. That's why Abel Hancock created the Invoice Template for Figma that syncs directly with Google Sheets. Now you can easily pull in data from a spreadsheet that automatically calculates totals, taxes, and discounts without sacrificing aesthetics. A win, win! 🙌 Check it out here: https://bit.ly/3zBM4CH #businessowners #freelancers #invoicemanagement #invoicesoftware #consultant #designconsultant #freelancedesigner #smb #invoices #freelancetips #freelancelife
